Air India is preparing to introduce a new in-flight entertainment (IFE) platform in the second half of 2027, as part of its efforts to enhance the passenger experience and expand digital services onboard its aircraft.
The new platform is expected to bring together entertainment, travel-related services, loyalty features and in-flight commerce through passengers’ seatback entertainment systems.
Air India also plans to use the platform to create new opportunities for onboard commercial services, allowing passengers to access products and services during their journey.
The initiative forms part of the airline’s broader digital transformation strategy, with technology playing an increasingly important role in improving the onboard experience and creating additional revenue opportunities.
The new IFE platform is expected to be introduced progressively from the second half of 2027.
