Airbus Inaugurates Major Technology Centre in Bengaluru | aviationbizz.com
Airbus has launched its new Technology Centre in Bengaluru, expanding its footprint in India and supporting the “Make in India” initiative.
The facility spans 880,000 sq. ft. and can accommodate around 5,000 employees, making it one of Airbus’ largest engineering and digital hubs outside Europe. The centre brings together engineering, design, digital innovation, customer service, and supply-chain operations under one roof. It will support the full lifecycle of Airbus products — from aircraft and helicopter design to maintenance, upgrades, and performance optimization.
The Bengaluru hub will focus on advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, and sustainable aviation solutions. A dedicated customer services unit will provide technical support and maintenance advisory for operators worldwide.
The centre will also host a local chapter of Airbus Leadership University, offering professional development and training to engineers and technical experts, strengthening India’s aviation talent ecosystem.
Airbus’ procurement from Indian suppliers has grown from $500 million in 2019 to over $1.5 billion today, with plans to exceed $2 billion by 2030. More than 100 Indian companies now supply critical components for Airbus aircraft.
This new facility reinforces India’s role as a strategic partner in Airbus’ global operations and highlights the company’s focus on innovation, technology, and talent development.
