Delta Air Lines Plans Major Global Expansion with 11 New Long-Haul Routes for 2026
Delta Air Lines has revealed plans to expand its international flight network in 2026 by launching 11 new long-haul nonstop routes.
The expansion is aimed at improving global connectivity and providing passengers with more direct travel options between the United States and several key destinations across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America.
The airline’s new routes will include direct flights to popular European destinations such as Olbia in Sardinia, Malta, Porto in Portugal, and Catania in Sicily. These additions are expected to make travel easier for tourists and business travelers while strengthening connections between the U.S. and Mediterranean regions.
Delta will also expand services from several major U.S. hubs. New routes are planned from Seattle to Rome and Barcelona, while Los Angeles will see the return of daily nonstop flights to Hong Kong. Boston is set to add new connections to Madrid and Nice, further enhancing the airline’s transatlantic network.
In addition, Atlanta will introduce a new nonstop route to Riyadh beginning in October 2026, and Salt Lake City will launch its first direct service to Lima in Peru. With these developments, Delta aims to provide passengers with improved travel convenience, expanded destination choices, and a more comfortable long-haul flying experience.
