COMAC C919 Completes First Scheduled International Commercial Service

China’s domestically developed COMAC C919 has reached another major milestone by completing its first scheduled international commercial passenger service.

The flight, operated by Air China, connected Beijing with Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, marking the C919’s debut on a scheduled international route. The milestone represents an important step in the aircraft’s expansion beyond China’s domestic aviation market.

The C919 has been developed by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) as a narrow-body passenger aircraft designed for the global commercial aviation market. Its entry into international scheduled operations highlights China’s growing capabilities in commercial aircraft manufacturing and its ambitions to strengthen its position in the global aerospace industry.

The international service also provides an opportunity for the C919 to gain operational experience on overseas routes and increase its visibility among international passengers and aviation operators.

The development comes as COMAC continues efforts to expand the C919’s presence and build confidence in China’s homegrown commercial aviation technology.
