China Launches High-Performance AEE25 Electric Engine for eVTOL Aircraft | aviationbizz.com
China has unveiled its newly developed AEE25 aviation electric engine, designed specifically for electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
The engine recently rolled off the production line in Wuxi, located in Jiangsu Province, marking a significant step forward in the country’s electric aviation sector.
The AEE25 stands out with an impressive torque density of 40 newton-meters per kilogram, making it the highest-performing engine among China’s publicly disclosed 200-kW-class aviation electric engines. This advancement highlights the growing capabilities of China in next-generation propulsion technologies.
The engine has now entered the airworthiness certification phase and is set to be integrated into the E20 eVTOL aircraft. This development is expected to accelerate the deployment of electric air mobility solutions and strengthen innovation in sustainable aviation.
