Nonstop routes from Orlando International Airport to Cartagena, Medellín, and Bogotá, Colombia, launching in December
Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: ULCC) announced a major expansion in its international operations today with its first-ever service to South America. Launching in December, the new routes will affordably connect Orlando International Airport (MCO) to El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá (BOG), Rafael Núñez International Airport in Cartagena (CTG), and José María Córdova International Airport in Medellín (MDE).
To celebrate the new service and the airline’s introduction to Colombia, America’s Low Fare Airline is offering fares starting at $99.*
“This is an exciting day for Frontier and for travelers as we announce our first-ever service to South America,” said Tyri Squyres, vice president of public and consumer affairs, Frontier Airlines. “We believe there is strong, unmet demand for low-cost travel between Orlando and Colombia, and we look forward to offering affordable flight options between these two magnificent destinations.”
“We are pleased to support Frontier’s continued growth at Orlando International Airport with the launch of its new nonstop service to Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena,” said Lance Lyttle, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, which manages Orlando International Airport. “Expanding airline options on these routes gives travelers more choice, strengthens our connectivity with Colombia, and reflects the strong demand for affordable international travel between Central Florida and South America.”
Frontier Airlines has introduced sweeping changes to its product and customer service offerings, ushering in ‘The New Frontier.’ Among the enhancements is UpFront Plus seating, an upgraded seating option with extra leg and elbow room in the first two rows of the aircraft. Customers in UpFront Plus enjoy a window or aisle seat with extra legroom and a guaranteed empty middle seat. The airline also now offers unlimited companion travel for its most loyal customers, with the flexibility to choose a different companion on every Frontier flight. Debuting in 2026, Frontier will begin offering First Class seating, combining unmatched comfort and space at Frontier’s trademark affordable prices.
Frontier continues to innovate with its industry-leading frequent flyer program, Frontier Miles, which allows members to earn miles and points quickly and get rewarded for each dollar spent on Frontier products. For the 2026 year, Elite status is attainable at only 10,000 points and offers perks such as priority boarding and free bag(s) depending on status level.
