Noida International Airport Set to Launch Commercial Flights from June 15
Noida International Airport (NIA) has announced that it will begin commercial flight operations from June 15, 2026. The development is set to create a new gateway for passengers, airlines, and cargo movement across the National Capital Region (NCR) and beyond.
The launch will follow the formal inauguration by the Prime Minister along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The airport has also secured approval for its Aerodrome Security Program (ASP) from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), confirming that all safety, security, and operational standards are in place for commercial operations.
IndiGo will operate the inaugural flight, marking the start of scheduled passenger services. This will be followed by the commencement of operations by Akasa Air and Air India Express. Details on routes, schedules, and services are expected to be announced soon.
Developed to meet rising air travel demand, the airport features a modern terminal, advanced infrastructure, and strong multimodal connectivity, ensuring a seamless travel experience. It is designed to offer both passenger convenience and operational efficiency for airlines.
The commencement of operations is expected to significantly enhance regional connectivity and drive economic growth by boosting tourism, trade, and investment across Noida, Greater Noida, and western Uttar Pradesh.
Noida International Airport (IATA: DXN) is a greenfield project aimed at connecting the Delhi region with domestic and international destinations. Combining Swiss operational expertise with Indian hospitality, the airport seeks to deliver a high-quality passenger experience.
The project is being developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, in partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Government of India under a public-private partnership model. The concession period, which began on October 1, 2021, will run for 40 years.
Currently equipped with one runway and a terminal capable of handling around 12 million passengers annually, the airport has plans to expand capacity to over 70 million passengers per year in the future, positioning it as a major aviation hub in India.
With operations set to begin soon, Noida International Airport is poised to transform air travel in the region and play a key role in India’s growing aviation sector.
